Stapley Files Notice of Claim Against Arpaio, Thomas
An attorney for Maricopa County Supervisor Don Stapley filed a notice of claim Friday against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and County Attorney Andrew Thomas, among others, alleging defamation, false arrest and malicious prosecution:
In the filing, Stapley accuses the sheriff of telling deputies to get surveillance video of his September 2009 arrest that would be used to "further humiliate and intimidate Stapley."

Additionally, the filing alleges that after his arrest, Stapley was "put into a filthy and rancid cell with feces on the floor."
A notice of claim is a precursor to a lawsuit against the government.

One fact stands clear: you will seriously miss this man when he leaves office. The criminals (yes, illegal aliens are criminals) will benefit. God bless you Joe!

I don't respect any man in a position of power who feels that civil rights are not a big issue when performing police work. This dinosaur has got to go!

Remember what I`ve said about Arpaio being a throwback to the 60`s southern sheriff and their political connections and their GOOD OLE BOy network (are you listening Hendershot ???? ) He even fits the profile of corruption in office , destroying evidence , etc........... the man is just one half of the FADING TWO ...................

"One fact stands clear: you will seriously miss this man when he leaves office." What planet are you on? You might want to inform yourself, then come back and share your views. He is likely not to "leave" office, but be forced out as a criminal. Then he will get to see how a real Sheriff runs things, like the jails. You'll still hear lots of whining from him though for different reasons. He'll still be wearing an MSCO issued uniform though.

The only thing that will be missed is the laughter he invokes. But the tax dollars he wastes will no longer be missed.

I agree with the majority of the comments on this much ignored thread. Arpaio and Thomas are clearly in the wrong. They should have to pay out of their own pockets. Maybe then money would mean a bit more to them. Stapley paid 1.5 million in his own money to defend himself. That should come directly out of Arpaio and Thomas's hide, not us the taxpayer.

However, this story should have been out here for comment several days ago. It's already been blogged out on all of the other boards, so it won't really get much attention here.

Blog Administrator -

I am the one who said you missed an opportunity... sorry, no offense intended.

I'm just so sick of Arpaio being all about "illegals" when really, most of us who don't like him don't like illegals either...

Carry on! You do a great job here and we're grateful for another place to air our opinions, and thanks for your on-going dilligence in deleting Simms' posts! That last one was outrageous.

To the lack luster anonymous who said "who are you to have opinions deleted..."

Opinions get deleted when they are vulgar, threatening or in any other way violate the terms of service.

Don't get indignant over your "free speech". As long as you abide by the terms, you're good to go.

To "Anonymous" who said "Sounds like alot (sic) of people don'nt (sic) get where illegals come into play."

It sound like Anonymous has his/her head up his/her rectal orifice and doesn't understand how our KKKorupt Shurf writes his own rules as he sees fit and then tries to be judge and jury on top of it.

"Sheriff Joe" is a joke and a bad one at that. He is a disgrace to career law enforcement officers. He is a publicity "hog" and although he claims that what he does is for the people of Arizona, I am always left with the feeling that he is a self-centered bully and his so- called policies are always more about him than professional police work. He has been "playing" to the people of Arizona for far too long, but it finally appears that the public is catching on to his bluster.
