Arpaio Announces Yet Another Crime Sweep

Sheriff Joe Arpaio will be sending his deputies and posse members out for their 15th crime sweep at some point next week. Though Arpaio has not said exactly where the crime sweep will take place, he said it will take place in a high-crime area.

On Tuesday, a blog for the Phoenix New Times pointed readers toward a video of an appearance by Arpaio, Supervisor Mary Rose Wilcox and Ariz. Sen. Russell Pearce on Geraldo Rivera's show in late March:

"accountability, responsibility, common sense" Sounds good on the pamphlet, but these are exactly the attributes that he makes painfully clear each day that he doesn't have. When it comes to accountability, for example, he loves to play the blame game. It's the county supervisors, or the media, or someone else's fault. Which of those was running the jails when the deductible was jacked up from $1M to $5M. (Ever had your deductible quintupled just to be able to get coverage? I've never heard of anyone besides Arpaio who has.) Why? Because so many times his staff have been found negligent leading to lawsuits that cost the taxpayers money. This happens many multiples of times more frequently in Joe's jails than in others of comparable size or makeup.

Get informed, or just continue to post your cartoonishly ridiculous propaganda. These things are a matter of public record and are widely reported you know. So where are YOUR facts to back up your assertions? Ever wonder why those who don't support him provide facts and provable reasons and those who are his cheerleaders never do? The answer is pretty simple. He's a politician and keeps trying to deceive people with made-up facts, and PR stunts. And many, but fewer every day are falling for it.

We've heard every excuse for him. But where's the evidence to defend him?

The cost of illegal aliens is high due to the cost of health care and educational services that are provided in Arizona. Isn't this what is discussed daily in the news on the costs of health care and educational services? What if the protesters all contributed to the cost of providing both of these to illegal immigrates. Do you think it would be a high priority. If there's a steady flow of illegals- how do you then defend the job Arpaio is doing. Read the news reports- quite a few other agencies arrest far more illegal immigrants than MCSO.

"He knows how to deliver the truth" And yet he admitted destroying records that would harm his court case. Did he not? So how about posting some facts about his job performance instead of poorly written PR copy?

The ones who are against this want your vote to keep them in power. That other sheriff in Aizona is a democrat so what would you expect? Protect your state and support this law. I'm Mexican and I think that joe is OK but he is a pain in the az as well, they both should have a reality show and fight it out. the boarders need one thing and that is to charge the mexicans crossing to work here in the USA. $15k each for a one year visa then go back to Mexico and do it again. this is cheaper than the 10k they pay to get here and the kidnapping fee paid for the rest of the money. But if they have a criminal record here then they can't get in. they must go thru a check in Mexico as well and get a ok from the Gov.. If found here in the U S without the card then they must go back to Mexico and spend time in a Mexican jail for the first time, longer for the second time and so on. the USA will get a real count on who is here, children, etc. They must aquire to a SSI card and pay taxes, and drivers license and sign a organ donor's consent form. this will get rid of the coyotes and some of the drug runners. children must go to the schools and colleges and pay the full ride for the education without gov help for the first two years. if in business must pay taxes on a month to month basis for the first two years to assure the business is legal. I believe the police departments should check people out to see if they are here illegally. It's about time someone in America does. Sheriff's in Arizona pulled me over and checked out my Father and Mother in laws identification. They are from Japan and were here legally on vacation. I thanked the sheriffs for checking as they were most professional. Why does everyone point out Mexicans, they don't discriminate as in my case is a true example since my in laws are Japanese and do not what so ever look like a Mexican.
