Arpaio: I'm Not Running For Governor
Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he has decided not to run for Arizona governor.

"Right now, we are standing in the cross-hairs of history in this state and as sheriff of the most populous county in Arizona, there is much work yet to do," he said in a statement.

To leave this office open to appointment by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors of an interim sheriff may very well put us on a path that would be extremely displeasing to the voters of this county," he said.

What would he have run on? Gov Brewer took his only pet issue illegal immigration away. Besides it is about time to retire.

What a drama queen. He knew he wasn't going to run when he started all this speculation. He is the most egotistical SOB I have ever heard of. Arpaio had the balls to say that if he ran, he would win. I guess he is afraid to enter the race and lose. He would then be out of a job, out of a bully pulput and out of the way. Too bad he didn't decide to run.

I knew he would not run for governor. He cant step-up to find real solution to the problems. I’m relieved his not running for governor! If Brewer is bad Arpaio would of been a catastrophe : )

As a gov.as usual he would do a fine job & would of put someone in his sheriff position with honesty, good character & to do a good job for Az. just like he's been doing as sheriff. Either way, he still works for Arizona citizens! Thank you Joe!

Arpaio I'm glad you changed your mind. You found your "nitch" in life and your darn good at it.Keeo up the good work where your at and let Dear Jan be re-elected to her role as governor. It's her "nitch" and she's perfect for it. Is it possible for you to DONATE your contributions to JAN BREWERS election campaign ??? Now that would be an awesome gesture that should be given in a pink bag with a BIG PINK BOW on it....Perfect ....

This just in: http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2010/05/az_gov_arpaio_w.php

AZ GOP exec. dir. Brett Mecum tells Hotline OnCall that it is his understanding that Arpaio will not run.

With Arpaio out of the race, Gov. Jan Brewer (R) has a lead, but the majority of GOP voters remain undecided, according to a new survey.

The Rocky Mountain Poll, conducted April 12-25 by the Behavior Research Center, surveyed 319 GOP primary voters for a margin of error of +/- 5.5%. Brewer was tested against Treas. Dean Martin, NRA board member/firearms training center owner Owen "Buz" Mills and ex-state GOP Chair John Munger.

Primary Election Matchup
J. Brewer 22%
B. Mills 13
D. Martin 10
J. Munger 4

A total of 51% of voters remain undecided. Brewer, who took office after DHS Sec. Janet Napolitano quit to head to DC, is little-known around the state, but many believe her decision to sign a controversial immigration law 2 weeks ago bolstered her popularity among GOP voters.

That Arpaio will not run is of little surprise. The 77-year old 5-term Maricopa Co. sheriff has flirted with GOV bids before, only to drop out at the last minute. Instead, he has spent this year advocating for ex-Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R), who is running a strong challenge to Sen. John McCain (R) in the Aug. 24 primary.

So Arpaio IS a politician. This is the fourth time he will have pulled this maneuver (if the story of him pulling out again at the last minute is true). We'll know soon.

(Evidently he has made his announcement already- I missed it- oh well.)

"he {Arpaio] states: I wonder who's paying for sharptons trip to Az. I'm sure it's you & me. That's exactly what I've been saying" Arpaio provides no evidence to back his charge and he's supposed to be a Sheriff! No surprise that his followers do business the same way:

1) Come up with some incendiary rhetoric when something happens you don't like, or that tends to bring your incompetence or malfeasance into the spotlight
2) Get on "the air" (or the blogs) and let it rip- see what sticks.

Instead of throwing rocks at others, do you think he will EVER promote his record (such as crime statistics, response times, clearance rates, etc.) as Sheriff? Not if he has a brain. His record stinks. Politicially he's better off throwing rocks at others, seeing if he can hurt them; than he is facing his own dismal record as Sheriff.

Many point out the number of votes he's gotten. And that's true. It's a political argument. And it underscores the fact that he's a much better politician than he is a Sheriff.

"Joe is trustworthy, works for Az. for many years, confident in doing so, transparent, great character, on & on." I didn't include the whole sales pitch, but perhaps you can answer the following:
1) Why does MCSO not make crime statistics readily (READILY) available as do most other law enforcement agencies in Maricopa County? If he's confident, and trustworthy, wouldn't making his job performance easy to determine be in his and everyone's best interests? Is this your idea of transparency? Or do you mean that his political ambitions and media manipulation are transparent?

2) Why has he four times publicized the fact that he is considering a run for governor, only to back out at the last minute? He's never backed away from the TV cameras offering the free publicity that comes with his announcements. Sounds like a savvy politician to me.

3) Why are MCSO's response times so high- much longer than their stated goals, even for the most urgent calls. Yet Joe can always find the resources to stage a PR stunt, um "crime sweep".

4) Why is their "exceptional clearance" rate so out of line with other agencies? Please read:
"The East Valley Tribune, in its Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative series, reported that in 2006 MCSO closed three times as many cases by exception as by arrest. The Tribune investigated MCSO case files and found that many were cleared without investigation. MCSO officials told the Tribune that an internal investigation was ongoing. But two years later the Arizona Republic reported that MCSO only cleared 18 percent of its 7,200 cleared cases by arrest, suggesting that the misuse of exceptional clearance may be unabated."

How does his confidence (or lack of same) make a dime's worth of difference to the people he's supposed to be protecting? It's notable that there have been plenty of confident fools throughout history.

The image that comes to mind is a failed Evel Knievel motorcycle jump. He was confident about 60 seconds before he was being scooped onto a stretcher (which was waiting in the wings, so maybe he wasn't so confident, or maybe just very cautious [guffaw]).

Silly Lawn order, lies are for you and politicians,
except Joe of course, the only honest politician we have.

I scanned all the post you put on here today, without wasting much time on your repeating words. It is more than clear to me and everyone else on here, this is your only job. Not sure what “want to be sheriff” you work for, but it don’t matter. The politician you work for will lose, no matter how hard you cry on here. Yes it is a fact, the majority wants Joe, and we could care less about your over stated twisted lies about Joe. However, I did read your last silly post, and I will prove how silly all 4 of the points you made are.

Lawn order silly question number 1)
Why does MCSO not make crime statistics readily (READILY) available as do most other law enforcement agencies in Maricopa County?
Simple answer 1)
You are trying to imply Joe doesn’t make crime statistics available. That is a complete lie. Joe does everything he is required to do as sheriff, and more than all the rest out there. Joe arrest illegals, he does that for us the majority.

Lawn order silly question number 2)
Why has he four times publicized the fact that he is considering a run for governor, only to back out at the last minute? He's never backed away from the TV cameras offering the free publicity that comes with his announcements.
Simple answer 2)
First of all, why would you care? Why would you care that Joe got free camera time? Because your boss has to pay for it? Oh my God, four times Joe got to say on camera he might run for governor. Quit being so jealous, your boss is going to lose even if they got all the free camera time they wanted. We want Joe for Sheriff, not some one being supported by a cry baby like you, that couldn’t even come close to being “Joe the toughest sheriff in America.” And yes, we need Joe with all the crime here, because we don’t have enough tax dollars to double our police force. Thanks to the money system that runs these corrupt city officials here.
I have to wonder, how hard will you be crying if Joe changes his mind? Lol
Lawn order silly question number 3)
Why are MCSO's response times so high- much longer than their stated goals, even for the most urgent calls. Yet Joe can always find the resources to stage a PR stunt, um "crime sweep".
Simple answer number 3)
For one, silly one, crime sweeps have nothing to do with response times that are rated 24 hours a day. Do you have statistics saying Joes response times are longer when he is having a crime sweep? That is the only statistic that would matter when comparing response times to time spent on crime sweeps. Yet as usual, you use a statistic that has nothing to do with your point, just to try and prove a lie. I know, you learned that from goldwater and our media, I‘ll forgive you for being a blind sheep this time.
As far as his response times, had the city officials that accused Joe of abuse of power, not of wasted four hundred million tax dollars this year, just on 1 project. Joe could of hired more police. It is clear, he doesn’t have enough deputies for all the crime here, that is why his response time are long, dah.

Lawn order silly question number 4) It is too long to post.
Simple answer number 4) Again, you are referring to twisted and spun facts, none of which, Joe has ever been found negligent for. Again a lot of cries with no facts to back them.

Yes Lawn order, you repeat the same crap and get your facts from news reporters. Hate to break it to you Lawn order, the media is not where you get proof of anything, only the twist the reporter chooses. You talk about me not stating sources, then you state what a reporter says as actual fact? Lol, man, you really are completely ignorant to the real world aren’t you?

This just in,http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/05/03//index.html?hpt=C2 Reports that Arizona sheriff Joe Arpaio will be nominated for the year 2010 man of the year award. The widely known sheriff Arpaio, has just recently turned down the governorship of the state of Arizona, so that he can remain in his role as sheriff of Maricopa county Arizona and also retain his title of "toughest sheriff in America". In an interview, the sheriff has stated, that he owes it to the people of Maricopa county and Arizona.

Sheriff Arpaio is known world wide as the "toughest sheriff in America" will he also be known as "the man of the year"?

"Just curious on exactly what makes you think that your post[sic] are credible? " That really is a good question, the answer to it is a bit involved, so thanks for your indulgence.

The job and responsibilities of our Sheriff are a critically important set of issues for the citizens of this county and directly or indirectly affects us all. Since it impacts people's lives, and their quality of quality of life as well as that of their neighbors, and it is critically important, therefore, for everyone to be well and accurately informed.

This isn't about me, so I won't bore you with talk about me and my CV. However- when appropriate (almost always) I post the pertinent article or a segment , or a significant section of it, along with a link to the original.

I do not want or expect anyone to take my word for anything (except my opinion, which is mine). I very much want people to inform themselves with accurate information. If I can perform the service of pointing people to some of it, I would be very gratified. When it comes to my credibility, I want to be identified as someone who provides honest, and carefully researched information. However it matters not to me whether readers visit the links I supply, or do objective (OBJECTIVE) research on their own- as long as they are well informed with something other than opinion and propaganda I am happy.

"turned down the governorship of the state of Arizona" What a load! Here's some news for you: Governors are elected by the people here. He knew he wouldn't make it. He decided not to run after milking all of the publicity he can get- for the FOURTH time! He's a politician. He's a crummy Sheriff- at least he is if you care about documented results.

"...retain his title of "toughest sheriff in America"" This is a "title" that he gave himself. The one that he deserves according to the stats and other factual information available is "most political Sheriff".

Were you paid to post this political spin? Did he nominate himself for this dubious title of "2010 man of the year"? If not- who did nominate him? That's a different thing than earning it or being awarded it, you know. Talk about corruption- this blog is corrupt, it being full of mis-information and political spin!

Where (again) are the facts? Where's the evidence that he deserves any distinction beyond multiple investigations of his methods as Sheriff.

I don't work for any politician- let alone one who wants to be the next Sheriff. I have been accused of all manner of things by Joe Arpaio's supporters. I think it's vitally important for citizens to know the facts. I asked four simple questions earlier. Mark Gasser was kind enough to answer them. His answers speak volumes about the Sheriff's honesty. They are rife with inaccuracies and spin- all of which we've seen here before, and all of which indicate that law enforcement duties take a back seat to politics.

WIth all of the safety issues being facted by the citizens of Maricopa County, I find it odd that the Sheriff's supporters fail, even when challenged, to post any performance metrics for Arpaio. It's not surprising when you research them and discover that the available data prove beyond doubt that Sheriff Arpaio's job performance is sorely lacking. Unfortunately his poor performance has a direct human impact in the forms of unsolved cases, and criminals who act with impunity while the Sheriff stages "crime sweeps" that serve only to boost his public image but do little to improve the safety of those whom he is charged to serve.

If he spent even half the time hunting down actual criminals as he does seeking out media attention, I bet there would not be over 49,000 active warrants in this county. Go ahead, Joe, boast about the huge number of illegals you’ve caught. Maybe it’s time for you to actually go after some real criminals now, seeing as you won’t be running for governor.

Evidently someone is very afraid that people are going to find out what a poor job Arpaio is doing. I could care less (obviously) about the personal attacks. They just reflect the desperation of his disciples to try to obfuscate his miserable record as the Sheriff.

That these perverse (and utterly idiotic) statements make Arpaio's minions feel good, is sorry indeed. I don't read much off-topic offal posted here, but it seems like a good deal of "thought" has gone into these fantasies. Speaking of fantasies- look at the results of Arpaio's "crime sweeps"- they're hard to mention without laughing:

MCSO 287(g) statistics
http://www.kpho.com/download/2010/0209/22511475.pdf

There's much more evidence that he's doing a far less than adequate job. Funny how his boosters post no verifiable facts to refute that. So they vent their frustrations on me. I could care less about what these sub-morons think of me!!! Joe Arpaio is being investigated on many fronts. It's been in the papers. There are plenty of other law enforcement officials who are against illegal immigration (as am I)- but, unlike Arpaio, you don't hear about them being investigated for illegality and abuse of power.

So once again I will say it: From Joe Arpaio's devotees (or campaign workers) we see lots of cheerleading going on for a politician. Many if not most of them try to change the subject. There's only one reason that would be the case. Let's see some examination of his law enforcement record.

I told you that he was going to end his fourth campaign for Governor quite a few days ago. It's not rocket science. He knew that making noise about it would get him lots of publicity- it has before! Three times previously, he's pulled out at the last minute. See a pattern? So do I- he's a politician. They love to be in the limelight, and will change their minds if they think it is in their interests (never mind the people). In this case, one wonders if the people are best served by allowing Joe Arpaio as little power as possible. Based on the investigations of the abuses of his authority as Sheriff, it looks like he can't handle what he has.

Here is a real-world effect that Arpaio's political motivations have had on one person. There are thousands of stories like this, but one is too many:
In 2001, when Abigail Brown was 14, she reported that she was the victim of statutory rape by older boys at a party. MCSO was in charge of the investigation.
The MCSO investigator reported that the victim had not reported the rape for seven months, had consumed alcohol, engaged in consensual sex with another male at the party, and could not positively identify the perpetrator.12 Due to those “technicalities,” the investigator declared the case exceptionally cleared. By FBI standards, MCSO should not have cleared the case by exception because no perpetrator
was identified. Instead of keeping the case open or suspending it, MCSO considered and reported the crime as solved.

Years later, with the assistance of pro bono counsel, Ms. Brown, now a young adult residing in Massachusetts, asked MCSO and the Maricopa County Attorney to reopen the investigation. A Maricopa County prosecutor later determined that the statute of limitations had run out during the 16-month period after the investigation was reopened. Ms. Brown has come forward publicly in the hope that future victims of sexual assault will have their crimes fully investigated and the perpetrators brought to justice.

What if that were your daughter or sister, mother or wife? Would you view Arpio as a super-cop, as his disciples portray him? I call that the "Myth of Arpaio". He artificially inflates his "clearance rate" to make himself look better than he (or MCSO) is. Law enforcement, as we see from this example, is no place for politics.

Dear Joe

I am writing this to say thank you. For all the years of your life that you donated to us the majority. I know you don’t need the money and I know you would like to retire one day, but you don’t, because you know how the system works and you know the people still need you. Hey, I feel really bad, that your efforts to stop the waste of four hundred million tax dollars was stopped by a corrupt government. Yes, the people were on your side on this, but the system didn’t care what we wanted, they only cared about what the system that controls them wanted. Great try anyhow Joe and thanks again for the effort. I know you have been slandered by the media because of this and people have called you some sick names. Don’t worry what a few think Joe, what we the majority thinks is all that counts. And we the majority love you. You gave many in this country hope for real changes. Changes that will only come from politicians like you, that work for the people. I know I know, you are the only politician that bucks the system the rest are slaves to. Yes you made some great things happen by your self. Still Joe, it is really time for the majority to do it’s job too. It is for sure time we use the power given to us in our constitution. Once we do, I know you will be able to breath easy.

Hang in there Joe, I am still working on the four hundred plus United Majority of America web sites, one for each voting district. Once these sites are paid for and running, the majority will be able to make sure all our politicians are servants of the people, and no longer servants of the lobbyist system. Soon all our politicians from every political party will be forced into being like you, for the people by the people.

Thank you,
Mark Gasser

P.S.
It is great seeing you on TV. Please take every chance you can to get on the air waives. I know you don't do it for your own needs, you do it for us the people. Yes I know, the networks won't leave you alone. You can't blame them though, they know the majority wants to hear from you.

I love Sheriff Joe. I'm glad he's not running for governor because that would split the vote between him and Jan Brewer. We need them both in office to support SB 1070. We also need to be aware of what the Maricopa Supervisor (Mary Rose Wilcox, Dist. 5) is doing by going against the new law. Let's vote her out of office. Arizona needs to have this law stand. The people, 70% support this law. Listen to us or get voted out.

As usual- you don't know what you're talking about whether me, Arpaio, or MCSO. You're just another conspiracy theorist with a keyboard. Now how about posting some facts that I can check for accuracy, and their sources (like I do)?

You won't, you can't. Sounds like the definition of a personality cult to me.

Another note on the utterly unfounded accusation that someone is paying me to post here. Don't flatter yourselves. Joe is self-destructive. Alll that needs to be done is for people to pay attention and for some to speak up. That's what's happening. Of course, some will take these simple facts and manufacture and market an outlandish conspiracy theory.

This stupid accusation has been addressed before. Now maybe some of Arpaio's semi-literate, keyboard-equipped followers are projecting. That is, they are being paid, and think they're going to distract people from their own malfeasance by accusing others. That's really not all that important.

What is important is that, despite all the POLITICAL cheerleading going on for Sheriff Arpaio: saying that "we need more like him", that he's "confident" (whatever that's supposed to mean), etc. Many of the facts about his dismal record, and lost lawsuits, are easy to find if people choose to inform themselves. It's of srious concern that some will blindly believe anything they hear from their friends, even if it is patently ridiculous. The only requirement for credibility in their minds, it seems, are that the statements comport with their preconceptions and uninformed world view.

"web sight"? Let's make sure that mediocrity is the law of the land- is that the idea. And no, I am not for illegal immigration or illegal anything. I was born white to white US citizens, but I obviously can't take credit (or blame) for it. I think that everyone should take responsibility for themselves and not try to blame others, or a whole group of others by race, national origin, religion, etc.

Work to be superior in your realm (nobody is worth more than anyone else). Don't just knock other people to try to make yourself feel that way.

Joe Arpaio was just on TV again. He said he enforces all the laws. He really wants you to believe that. Here are some facts:

Excerpted from ABC News:

The department's performance can be assessed by the percentage of crimes that are solved or cleared per year. Most crimes are cleared either by an arrest or by an "exception," such as where the perpetrator is known to police, but can no longer be apprehended. Clearance by "exception" is supposed to be exceptional. But, in Maricopa County, that's not the case.

In 2006, 75 percent of cases were closed on the basis of exception as opposed to by arrest, according to the Goldwater Institute. In 2008, the Goldwater Institute also reports that only 18 percent of cases were cleared as a result of an arrest, while 82 percent were cleared as a result of exception.

"You know that was a criteria that was not an official type of statistic. That's somewhat how we look at it. It's not an official type statistic...it's just something that our policy is," he said.

"Those figures are misleading because we do solve over 50 percent of our homicides, but it's how you look at it whether it was a husband-wife murder..." Arpaio continued.

Pressed to explain why 82 percent of cases were declared cleared by exception, and if his department was writing cases off instead of reducing crime, Arpaio said his department clears more than 18 percent of cases by arrest.

"We do clear a higher percentage of that. I know that. We clear many, many cases -- not 18 percent," he said.

"Nightline" contacted the Sheriff's department again after the interview and was told that of 7,346 crimes -- only 944 had been cleared by arrest -- which amounts to only 15 percent. The remaining 85 percent were deemed inactive, unfounded or cleared by exception.

We asked Arpaio to address allegations that he's reducing crime on paper, but not in practice. "It's a bad allegation..." he said. "We solve over 50 percent of our murders. I'll put that against any other law enforcement. You're quoting exception and how the FBI clears cases...I got the facts. We have cleared over 50 percent of murders!"

Man, if that isn't classic Arpaio! "Believe me, not your lying eyes." They keep track, and the figures are the figures, no matter what he chooses to believe- and wants you to believe too. Or maybe he really believes his own PR and has no idea of what a crummy job his department is doing. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

What parts of anything have I ever posted, that wasn’t fact? Because I understand how the lobbyist system runs our government, I am a conspiracy theorist with a type writer? Lol, just open your eyes to reality lawn order, and you too will see the truth.

No, your facts from the media are not facts at all. In reality, you have never stated a real source of facts. Sorry, reporter spin is not fact, it is spun and twisted facts period.

Maybe because I have started the United Majority of America I am a conspiracy theorist in your mind? Think again lawn order, and quit being such an uneducated blind sheep. The United Majority of America is no conspiracy, it is the solution to the political problems in America. But don’t worry, the majority won’t need your help running this country, the majority will be better off without people like you on our side. No body likes people who pretend they are better than thou. Now that is a fact, and you know it. Do you even have one friend?

No lawn order, you don’t have another job outside of your wasted effort to slander Joe. If you did, it would be clear you are ripping your boss off by being on Joe’s site all day.
See lawn order, what you can see with open eyes. We are not blind on here, we read you like an open book. I think it is time you close it and get a real job.

Enough said off the subject of Joe’s blog. Go Joe go, straight to the top of your profession. I see you made it, great job Joe!

Since you know how to spell "borders", there are evidently many who think you don't belong here (even if you're Native American). It's sad, but sometimes ignorance wins. I'm just saying....

Somebody asked if I was calling him a conspiracy theorist. Well, I won't waste my time. Conspiracy theorists think everyone else is ignorant of the "real" facts, so there's no point in discussing it. And this blog is about Arpaio and what a crummy job he's doing, and how many lives he's having an adverse impact upon. He's a politician in the very worst sense. That's the bottom line.

Before some uninformed sub-moron makes me the issue- I have never been in tent city or any jail, I was born a white US citizen to like parents. But wrong is wrong.

I forgot to include the link for ABC news' story about Arpaio's insanely high "exceptional clearance" rate (meaning no investigation of lawbreaking most of the time): http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=9219341

Hard to say you're tough on crime when the stats prove you don't investigate over 3 out of 4 crimes. But some want to believe what he's selling- kind of like those male enhancement products and other quackery that people swear by.

And the guy who posted this garbage says I am uninformed and need to open my eyes (blah blah blah) when I post reliable news accounts, and stats on Joe from sources like a Pulitzer-prize winning newspaper series, and FBI statistics, etc.

For one, Americans didn't come to America illegally. There was no America to come to and no the pilgrims didn't come to North America illegally dumbass. Now this is America and yes we have laws against illegal crossing of our boarders. Why do you think you are referred to as an illegal?

It's frightening to think that if he doesn't like someone they become a target. The Old West "this is my town and I can run it however I want to" mentality needs to go. It seems that someone who feeds peoples fears to justify whatever he wants to do is the wrong person to provide leadership in this state. Whatever happened to "protect and serve" ALL of us as a mission? Thank heavens he's not running for governor -now THAT would really be scary!

Hey everyone: Mark Gasser just posted that he's going to post something. Wow!

Here's part of it (I might as well listen to gossip): "You won't want to miss it, Mark my words! I would post it now, but I have a job away from my computer and have to leave now. Unlike some on here who get paid to slander Joe." And why don't you name them, and your source(s) of information. Delusions are not the same as news, Mark. You've been told that before.

Now, Mark, you wouldn't say something slanderous ("some on here who get paid to slander Joe") with no evidence, would you? If you are talking about me- you are mistaken- as usual. I work in a field completely unrelated to anything here. But I am a concerned citizen- isn't that how it's supposed to work. Now what about some of Joe's supporters who post nothing but political rhetoric- are not some of them paid to do so?

I'm sure MCSO won't mind if you run your MCSO tricycle up and down Baseline code 3 while you pick up cans.

Here's some factual information about Joe Arpaio: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/angela-kelley/arpaio-the-only-one-smili_b_150397.html

Last week, the conservative Goldwater Institute has published a report documenting how the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, under the leadership of Sheriff Arpaio, has failed to serve and protect his community. Building on the East Valley Tribune investigation, the Goldwater Institute found that, though the MCSO budget has increased at four times the rate of the county's population, violent crimes increased nearly 70%, and homicides increased 166% between 2004 and 2007 (excluding 2005 because MCSO did not provide data).

The Goldwater Institute also found that the MCSO has a bad habit of refusing to share crime statistics and other data, and in 2007, the county had to pay $38,000 in legal fees to a newspaper for withholding press releases. Perhaps most disturbing, despite reporting a high crime clearance rate, the MCSO reported that relatively few of the cleared cases - 18% -- ended with an arrest. In contrast, Phoenix had a 78% of cleared cases ending in arrest.

It's understandable why his supporters would post political rhetoric instead of facts- the facts don't look good. Mow, with results like that- why would anyone be his supporter? It's a foregone conclusion that they will attack the sources, and will attack me (who cares?), but they won't disprove any of those facts. They can't.

Listen to Anonymous- he or she knows what the media refuses to report. - More political rhetoric (hoping to bury the factual information?). "Joe the transparent one[?]"

Unlike Phoenix PD, and Temp PD, and many other agencies where you can just go to their website and see their crime statistics as an aid to evaluating their performance, this is what you get from MCSO:
"This is not an automated request system. After submitting your request it will be reviewed and processed manually by MCSO personnel. Depending on the volume of requests, you will receive a response [but not necessarily the data] via email within two to ten business days. Average delivery time is two to five business days."

If his record can't withstand the scrutiny, why not consider replacing him? Joe- the translucent one.

Sad Cinco De Mayo

If there ever was a celebration celebrated that should not be, it for sure would be Cinco De Mayo. Why? What does Mexico think they accomplished by breaking away from France’s help? A greater country and a better government? LOL NOT!!! Mexico has the most corrupt democracy in the world and a country most are running out of. Yet when the illegals get here, they fly their Mexico flag and cheer for independence. Talk about a brain washed majority for sure.

Wake up Mexican majority, your country and government are currently a complete joke. Not to mention a complete shit whole(Literally). If it was not, you wouldn’t be running from your home land now would you? I know I know, the majority of Mexicans believe their corrupt government, when they say America is the reason they live in a complete shit whole. The saddest thing about that, instead of the Mexican majority doing something about their joke government, they believe the lies fed to them and blame America for a shit whole country! Lol but all too true, just ask your local illegal if you need some proof.

Illegals think they are doing what is right by coming here illegally. Why do you think they truly believe being illegal is right? Got some news for all of the illegals, don‘t stay in AZ, you will be arrested. Why? Because Joe and AZ enforces the law, that is why. Find a place in Obama’s neighbor hood, he has no problem with illegals being one himself, but the majority of America does care about the law. Joe is our power over your corrupt government and we plan use it.

Hey illegals, I think it is far time for you to go home and change the corrupt government you are celebrating today. Once you do, then and only then will Cinco De Mayo mean anything worth celebrating. Until then, I will morn for you all today.

I could care less whether you like the source of information or not- let's see you disprove something- and not with made-up facts; with reliable ones we can verify along with their sources. You NEVER have, and you NEVER will- because the facts I post are accurate. I would actually prefer that Arpaio stay in office and just do his whole job. But he's not going to do that- he's been in office long enough to prove that. I am sick of all the political spin and propaganda. He's a Sheriff and is supposed to be above that. But he's a politician in the worst sense of the word, and has a law enforcement badge that he abuses to his personal advantage. That is why he is being investigated.

Who do you think you're kidding with your "United Majority" garbage? Everyone knows you made that up. I only hope that you aren't on the county payroll being paid to post propaganda. Will you answer this, Mark: Are you on the county payroll?

And no- I am not stealing time from anyone. And I don't owe you an explanation of that. As far as the Sheriff is concerned- I am simply a well-informed and very concerned taxpayer. The only agenda I have is to get my money's worth, and to stop the needless suffering that is occurring because of Arpaio.

No matter how unconventional his methods are, Sheriff Joe is a man of great courage and conviction. With tens of thousands of illegals slipping through our border, transporting drugs, creating drop-houses in our neighborhoods, shooting our law enforcement officers and ranchers, making Arizona the kidnapping capital of the U.S., taking jobs from legal immigrants and citizens, and sponging off of our public services, education, health care -- I for one feel grateful that Sheriff Joe holds the office he does. A Harvard study shows that illegal immigrants cost Arizona households $700 each annually and costs the state $1.84 billion. Those like Al Sharpton looking to exploit this cause to further his own agenda, perhaps as a fundraising vehicle, are either ignorant or deliberately framing the issue to create propaganda favorable to their agendas. This fight is not about equal rights as illegals do not have Constitutional rights (read your Social Studies books, Al!). Yes, they certainly have human rights but not the rights that those who follow a path to legal citizenship, are naturalized or are born here have. That is not opinion, that is fact. Lawbreakers need to be dealt with as the law stipulates. Regarding a requirement that immigrants carry proof that they are here legally, how does this differ from every Arizonan being already required to carry a driver's license or state I.D.? This would surely suffice for those here legally. For those who are here illegally, they are sponging off of all taxpaying Arizonans and essentially stealing services from us all. Why SHOULD they get a "get out of jail free" card? We are either a nation of laws or we aren't. If we aren't willing to enforce one law then what happens with the next special interest that seeks to blackmail our lawmakers, office holders and law enforcement with threats of boycotts, civil disobedience and flaunting their undocumented status in front of television news cameras. I'll tell you what happens -- the U.S. becomes a toothless lion. If we allow extortive tactics to cause us to reverse course on this issue, supported by over 70% of Arizonans and supported by a majority across the country, how will we ever avoid these tactics from being successful in the future on any issue? Political correctness, civil disobedience and fear of boycotts serving special interests will diminish our Democratic system since popular opinion, the will of the majority and the legislative process will continue to be thwarted. Most Arizonans would welcome legal immigrants so this is not about ethnic or racial discrimination. It is about those flooding across our borders to take from us without paying their fair share because they are too lazy or impatient to take the path to legal citizenship that has existed in some form for generations. As for the argument about splitting up families, in a practical sense, this is no different than families that are split up for years, or forever, due to a family member being sentenced to prison for their unlawful acts. As for their wanting a better life, all they need to do is pursue citizenship through legal means and they can have it.

Excerpted from ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=9219341

The department's performance can be assessed by the percentage of crimes that are solved or cleared per year. Most crimes are cleared either by an arrest or by an "exception," such as where the perpetrator is known to police, but can no longer be apprehended. Clearance by "exception" is supposed to be exceptional. But, in Maricopa County, that's not the case.

Posted by the authentic and original Lawn Order.

There is relatively no racism in Hawaii. The ACLU, ACORN, Rainbow Coalition, and the rest of these race bate/Based 501-c3 organizations can't get a dime to start trouble here because everyone of different races here are all friends, married or just don't want to here this 'Mainland Rubbish' .

How is the citizenry supposed to be well-informed when so many can't distinguish reliable, factual reporting from bald opinion? How many are discouraged from asking honest questions and seeking the answers to them by name calling? Is that the best way to choose those who will have law enforcement authority?

People of arizona who dont like sheriff joe are probably the ones who have been to tent city for their crimes.

I love Sheriff Joe because we need more people and law enforcement like him that are not afraid to uphold the law and actually do something that many loose footed corrupt officials lack.

Deporting and making illegal immigration already was a law. Just now the state can enforce it.

With stricter laws, we can help SSN theft and identify theft, financial and banking theft, lower taxes for less prison/jails to be populated, less police work for the 75% of all arrests being hispanics/latin descent illegally. If you can pay for all this, go for it and protest the bill.

Otherwise they need to put it into effect all over.

What part of illeagal do these people not understand.
The way I understand it, these people think that since they are hispanic, it is ok for them to break the law, & that the people who must abide by the law is everyone else. We are tired of these people coming into our country, taking our job, getting free money, food & health care & we Americans have to pay for it. No one has given us a free ride & we have had to pay our own way.
We don't care who wants to come here as long as they do it the right way. Learn our language, become a citizen, live by our laws & pay your own way. As for Sharpton have him go down toward the boarder & live with the ranchers who have to live in fear for their lands & their lives. All this poor excuse of a man want is to be on TV. I hope he can justify aiding & abetting the illegals in their quest to live here for free.

Ever wonder who's being PAID OFF to NOT enforce the law in this government. Illegals send money from jobs that Americans should have to Mexico of course Mexico doesn't want them arrested. But I don't hear this station telling the people that if you are caught in Mexico without papers and you are an illegal it is a felony and you get 2 years, 10 years if caught again. And these illegals are complaining about 6 months. Isn't it profiling to be stopped if you're light skinned and blonde hair? I bet Mexico does it. So report it all you jerks and really tell both sides of the story.

Sheriff Joe is The Man!! He should run for President! He's trying to clean Maricopa County up from all these illegals! If you're here legally, than you have nothing to worry about, show your papers and you're free to go, but if you don't have them, well Odios!! If I go into a bar and they aren't sure if I'm of age, they card me. Am I supposed to claim that my civil rights were violated because I was carded?? I don't think so. The illegals we wanna get rid of happen to be Mexican because they're the ones jumping to border and being smuggled here in trucks and vans. Canadians aren't jumping the border nor are they coming here in truck loads! If someone wants to come to this country, I have no problem with that, just go to the immigration office and apply for citizenship, don't jump our border! So until we have this problem fixed, if you're hispanic have your papers and be prepared to show them!!

"What part of illeagal[sic] do these people not understand" Any chance you can come up with a new straw man. Find me a post that says illegal immigration (or illegal anything) is okay!

"The way I understand it, these people think that since they are hispanic, it is ok for them to break the law" So, you're a racist. Nobody has said that either. The way I understand it, ignorant people who don't want to know the facts are for Sheriff Joe. You know he has a pretty crummy record (in comparison with other agencies) as relates to immigration enforcement. He makes lots of noise about it, because he knows that lots of people will listen, and the illegals have ZERO political power. But mostly the noise is to obfuscate the fact that he is a very poor Sheriff (popularity doesn't count for competence, you know).

That many of his supporters are not too bright is evident from the many misspellings and poor grammar in their posts. But they sure like the childish tactic of calling people names. It's beyond their ability to come up with factual data to establish their points of argument logically. They seem to have a sense of entitlement, which I think is common to racists, if history is a reliable guide.

Arpaio is so great that nobody can come up with some data to prove it? Some seem to think that's perfectly okay. Makes no sense to me though.

His job is far too important to rely on marketing copy for the "facts". Arpaio is a politician. He stumps for other politicians, and stretches the truth, or just plain makes stuff up when it suits him.

Here's an example of confirmed data, with the source citation:

Excerpted from ABC News: http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=9219341

The department's performance can be assessed by the percentage of crimes that are solved or cleared per year. Most crimes are cleared either by an arrest or by an "exception," such as where the perpetrator is known to police, but can no longer be apprehended. Clearance by "exception" is supposed to be exceptional. But, in Maricopa County, that's not the case.

I'll put that against any other law enforcement. You're quoting exception and how the FBI clears cases...I got the facts. We have cleared over 50 percent of murders!"

So he says they've cleared over 50 percent- but how many by exception- he might not even know, but there are public records. He's also on video in a deposition before the court, saying that he's not familiar with the fourth amendment to the US Constitution. This is a brief explanation of it:

The fourth amendment is the part of the Bill of Rights which guards against unreasonable searches and seizures. The amendment specifically also requires search and arrest warrants be judicially sanctioned and supported by probable cause.

So it has a direct bearing on how his officers (and all law enforcement officers in all of the USA, regardless of their agency), perform their duties. Yet, Arpaio isn't familiar with it, and referred to civil rights as "all that crap" in the same recorded deposition. Now those are irrefutable facts. They are available for viewing.

Arpaio seems to have it backward: He's supposed to be serving the public, and not the other way around. If he was serious about upholding the law- he would be very familiar with the fourth amendment and its practical application. The US Constitution, you understand, is the bedrock on which the rest of the laws are built. That is why the Supreme Court is tasked with considering constitutional matters. But Arpaio seems to be more familiar with how to get an interview.

I love him too- but know that he is certainly not protecting us- at least not very well. The feds yanked his 287(g) immigration authority (which is given every law enforcment agency) over concerns and victim testimony that he was abusing that authority and violating the civil rights of US citizens. He's lost lawsuits over that numerous times, at taxpayer expense.

Here's some more information:
Unlike Phoenix PD, and Temp PD, and many other agencies where you can just go to their website and see their crime statistics as an aid to evaluating their performance, this is what you get from MCSO:
"This is not an automated request system. After submitting your request it will be reviewed and processed manually by MCSO personnel. Depending on the volume of requests, you will receive a response via email within two to ten business days. Average delivery time is two to five business days."

Another measure of law enforcement is response times to 911 calls. MCSO has a response-time goal of five minutes. In 2007, its median response time was just over seven minutes and its average response time was nearly 11 minutes. (from Interview with Glen Gardner, Phoenix Police Department, October 20, 2008.)

By contrast, the Phoenix Police Department reports an average response time of four minutes.2 The Tribune found that in 2006 and 2007, MCSO patrol cars took more than five minutes to arrive on two-thirds of the most serious calls for police assistance. (Pulitzer-winning East Valley Tribune “Reasonable Doubt: Key Findings.”)

More about the subject of this blog- JOE ARPAIO:

From: http://www.azcentral.com/news/Blog/PoliticalInsider/80244

The federal grand jury exploring allegations of abuses of power and prosecutorial authority by Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former County Attorney Andrew Thomas is meeting again today.

Arpaio is a target of the investigation while Thomas, who resigned to run for attorney general, is a subject of the investigation. The grand jury is focusing its investigation on the Sheriff, but also is interested in Thomas’ role in the controversies that have embroiled county government over the last 18 months. A subject of an investigation could become a target as evidence develops.

The Arizona Republic has learned that Lee Stein, an attorney who has represented Superior Court Judge Gary Donahoe, testified earlier today. Stein also represented Susan Schuerman, the executive assistant of Supervisor Don Stapley, the target of separate criminal cases pursued by Arpaio and Thomas. The Republic also learned that Fred Petti, who also briefly represented Schuerman, also testified today. Ed Novak, the attorney who represented the Board of Supervisors in its dealings with Thomas and Arpaio, testified this morning. Presiding Judge of Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Barbara Mundell will testify later today.

Additionally, there are others potentially on the schedule to testify during this grand-jury session: Donahoe, and Lisa Allen, a spokeswoman for Arpaio.

The Superior Court has been embroiled in battles with Arpaio and Thomas over the last couple of years. Thomas tried to pursue a criminal case against Donahoe alleging bribery, obstructing justice and hindering prosecution. The Donahoe charges stemmed, in part, from a ruling removing Thomas from the county's court-tower investigation. Thomas later dropped the charges.

- - - - - - - - -
Now, who do you think is paying for all of these legal actions? YOU ARE- if you are a Maricopa County taxpayer. So much for all of the money that his supporters allege (but never document) he has saved the taxpayers.

No wonder they resort to name-calling and other infantile sorts of fallacy. It reminds me of a religion. They take your money and tell you what you want to hear.

Oh I know the slaves will suffer having to go back to their home land they all partied about last night. Get it through your heads illegals, no it is not America's fault your government is the most corrupt democracy in the world, it is your own fault, for running away from the problem, Mexico! Go home and change it, it is very clear, you can not stay here!

Sure I feel bad for the Mexican majority, but I don’t want to pay for them, not when they have a country that has more oil than America and many other recourses that the corrupt government steels all the profits from. Mexico supplies the second most oil to America, Canada being our number one supplier. So why is Mexico so poor? The government they got after breaking free from France keeps all the money. Yes I’m pissed too, the Mexican majority blames me because I’m an American. Wake up blind Mexicans, again, it is YOUR own fault you decided to let your government rob you blind, not mine. Quit listening to the most corrupt democracy in the world and change it, coming here only empowers your corrupt government.

Joe is forcing illegals into having to deal with the real problems of Mexico. They all should thank him for that, now maybe Mexicans will have changes happen for the good of the Mexican majority in Mexico. But don't stay in America, America is changing too, our change is going to hurt you if you still think you can stay here.

Los Suns,

Sports and politics, it makes you wonder, are professional sports a part of the money system too?

Not sure about basketball, but I heard it said that the refs control football and the refs are controlled by money. I heard the spreads on football games, are way too accurate now a days. I was told by a bookie, “years ago you could pick three winning teams and make money off of betting them. But with the accuracy of the spreads now a day, it is near impossible.”

Sure it is very possible that professional sports are controlled by the same system that controls American politics. Los Suns may just be proof of that?

We don’t need sports and politics as one of the same right? It is easy for Nash to say let the illegals stay here, since it is not his countries majority that has to pay for illegals. Nash is a Canadian citizen, but at least he’s here legally.

Yes America needs to change the lobbyist controlled money system, so all of our politicians will have to act as Joe does, for the people by the people.

Be all we can be, the United Majority of America.

Yeah, it is just that simple. Read the bill and all of you fears about racial profiling will go away. The history of the United States will change and you won't think about the lynching of blacks in the south or the civil rights movement of the 1960's etc just because of a bill right? WRONG!

I guess they are now getting there chance to slap all of them back in the face, and doing a pretty good job I might add.

Nobody likes to abide by rules and laws, but they are there for a reason and are to be followed whether you like it or not. Plus, Arizonians are voting for him. Because in whatever he does, it's rightous, that's why the higher ups can't bring him down. He's doing everything by the book. Tax payers want that and support him 500%. He's doing his job!!!!! If illegals don't like how they're being treated here, then feel free to move on to Canada or any other surrounding country. We are not the only country with land and civilization.

---story continues ---

This is the Sheriff's Office's 32nd investigation into workplaces, Arpaio said. It began after a tip came into Arpaio's immigration hotline about 6 months ago.

Deputies remained on the site throughout the morning, and more arrests were expected. Deputies were searching two of the company's buildings, an office and a warehouse.

32 workplace raids- at this rate there will be no illegal workers (from Latin America, anyway) within 200 years! Sounds like a "crime sweep" to me! And what about all the violent and property crimes that are not investigated because of "exceptional clearance", and the Sheriff clearly doesn't know how many there are. (See post above.)

This is from the conservative Goldwater Institute:

It is difficult to track even basic MCSO crime statistics. Local police departments, including Phoenix and Tempe, make crime rate statistics available on their websites. By contrast, MCSO’s website appears to contain no crime statistics or budget figures, except for an occasional news release.

The taxpayers and their representatives cannot determine MCSO’s effectiveness or its stewardship of public funds without carefully kept and easily accessible statistics. MCSO annually reports that the most basic crime statistics it provides to the county are incomplete. Given that the safety and security of Maricopa County’s citizens is at stake, better record-keeping and greater transparency is essential.

As far as my book, it is over four hundred pages. It is not published and I really have no near future plans to try and publish it. However, since I wrote the book in an attempt to unite this country, I plan to post it on line free for all to see. I wrote the book to open eyes to the reality of the system that runs this country.

I will be posting one of the chapters this week. It is titled "Second Hand Global Warming ways." The chapter not only proves who and what the system is that runs America, but best of all, it proves how we can change the system to a majority rule instead of a money rule. For the people by the people, remember? For sure it is time we hold our politicians to our most basic rights of the constitution. The United Majority of America does just that.

Watch for my post that will let you know when you can read this chapter. Then just click on my name on any of my post and it will take you to the rest of the story. There is over one hundred articles posted on this page already, if you want to get a taste of the truth the system ran media never talks about.

Political brain washing at it's best.
A great example of why we need ALL our politicians to be like Joe, "For the People by the People"

"Drill Baby Drill"
Our politician spits these words to the crowd, followed by great cheers. Can someone please explain to me why? Why would anyone here care, unless you were an oil lord? When it comes to the profit from American oil wells, only the handful of oil lords here will profit, at a direct cost to us the majority. No we don’t need off shore oil wells, so the lords get richer. The profit form off shore oil wells doesn’t go to us the majority, but yes all of us are going to pay for the oil spilling into the ocean right now.

No, we don’t need oil from our ocean floor, not when Mexico has way more to sell us than we will buy from them. Mexico is our number 2 supplier of oil, Canada is our number 1 supplier. Mexico could be number 1, but then the oil lords here that control our politicians, wouldn't make profit from these off shore oil wells. Mexico would make the money instead, giving their majority less reason to come here.

If our government wasn’t controlled by the oil lords, our majority would profit from the oil we could get from Mexico. How? Our government would be able to charge an import tax on Mexican oil, giving us the people the profit instead of the American oil lords. True, some Americans benefit by working these off shore oil rigs, but they are only a handful of the American majority. Yes we all will benefit once these off shore oil well jobs are gone. Yes the world will benefit, once the oil lords are gone too. The lords stopped good mileage, solar power and electric cars for long enough. Goodbye oil lords goodbye, now that is something to cheer for.

No we don't need the oil from the East either, where the oil lords here got their money invested. We need to STOP oil from running America into the ground. Once we do, we would never be in fear of not enough oil. A fear burned into our minds, thanks to the oil system controling America.

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's deputies arrested 24 people at a work-site raid at a business park in west Phoenix.

The deputies began their search for 35 people who are suspected of identity theft at about 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the business near 48th Avenue and Van Buren Street. They remained on site throughout the morning searching two of the company's buildings, an office and a warehouse.

Arpaio said all of the employees were lined up inside the building and being asked for their identification.

Most of the people arrested were suspected of using false identification, Arpaio said.

The business, Laser Masters, sells printer cartridges and toner.

Relatives of those who worked at the company stood outside of the building. Josefina Almanzar, who saw her husband Michael, 30, enter the sheriff's arrest bus in handcuffs, began to scream and cry.

Almanzar said she was in the country legally, but would not comment on her husband's status. "They're just here to work," Almanzar said. "They're not here to steal."

Almanzar said she was worried that her whole family might have to move, but she is hopeful that her husband will not be deported. She said he has worked at the company for a while recycling cartridges.

Almanzar's mother and friend tried to comfort her as she cried and yelled at the sheriff, calling him a coward. Her mother, Rosa Valencia, said her nephew worked in the building as well.

This was the Sheriff's Office's 32nd investigation into workplaces, Arpaio said. It began after a tip came into Arpaio's immigration hotline about 6 months ago.

Deputies remained on the site throughout the morning, and more arrests were expected. Deputies were searching two of the company's buildings, an office and a warehouse.

The last 31 investigations resulted in the arrest of 362 illegal immigrants, the Sheriff's Office said. Of those, 231 were suspected of identity theft.

WASHINGTON - A prominent Senate Democrat is asking Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer to put off her state's controversial new immigration law for a year to give Congress a chance to pass a federal law - a long-shot request on a bill that even the White House says is nearly dead.

"There's not enough support to move forward," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Thursday.

But among Democrats, there's plenty of support for trying - in public - during this year of midterm elections. The party's control of Congress depends in part on keeping a key constituency - Hispanics - voting Democratic.

Hence, at a Cinco de Mayo celebration Wednesday at the White House, Obama said he wanted to start work on immigration legislation
this year.

And in a letter to Brewer on Thursday, Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., raised an unlikely path to passage for the troubled immigration proposal stalled in the Senate
.

Delay for a year the date the Arizona law takes effect, Schumer proposed, and push one of Arizona's two Republican senators to support the Democrats' outline for an overhaul of the immigration law.

The year delay would give Congress a chance, Schumer wrote, to pass a comprehensive federal law that would toughen borders and forge a path to citizenship for millions here illegally. That would be more effective than the state law, the New York senator argued.

(Scant time passed before Brewer's spokesman delivered her answer: No!!)

Even if she had agreed to call the legislature back into special session to make the delay official, it was highly unlikely that Sens. John McCain or Jon Kyl would change their minds and support the Democrats' proposal.

Schumer's short-lived idea was the Democrats' latest effort to look like they're not abandoning immigration reform
at a time when Arizona passed the toughest crackdown in the nation. It's true that no Republican is openly supporting the bill, but it's not clear that all of the Democrats are behind it, either.

Obama has told reporters that after health care reform, there's a dearth of appetite in Congress for yet another divisive debate this election year.

The outcome of fall elections could determine whether Congress takes up immigration next year. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., an original sponsor who has backed away from the immigration bill, has said it could be done in 2012, when Obama is up for re-election.

Hispanic voters have long been frustrated that Obama's campaign promise to pass immigration reform has not happened. Some members of the House Hispanic Caucus agreed to vote for his health care overhaul on the understanding that he would push immigration reform through this year.

Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, struggling through is own tough re-election bid in heavily Hispanic Nevada, considered bringing it to the floor of the Senate ahead of energy and climate change legislation.

Then Obama told reporters that there's no appetite in Congress for an immigration fight this year. Senate Democrats unveiled an immigration outline - not a bill - the next day nonetheless.

Lots of political bragging going on over the arrests of 24 people by MCSO. Silence from those same braggarts when 105 were arrested by ICE. To me it shows that Arpaio confuses rhetoric with competence.

Gasser has avoided answering the question of whether he is paid by Maricopa county. I find that very suspicious. I am not going to bother asking Simms, who wants a bloody race war. (He'd be the one running away if it were to come to that.) Gasser is semi-literate and claims to work- do the math.

I think Arpaio can see the writing on the wall and he's trying to get the public on his side so he can hide behind them. I sense that the indictments will come soon. As I've said from the beginning (of my posts)- the truth will out.

Back to JOE ARPAIO (see the top of this page):

From: http://www.courthousenews.com/2010/04/08/26230.htm

PHOENIX (CN) - A man died from a brain hemorrhage after Sheriff Joe Arpaio's officers refused to give him his anti-seizure medication and put him in a cell with a concrete floor and walls, his daughters say.
The family says the Sheriff's Department knew of Joseph Phillippi's medical history because he had suffered multiple seizures when he was denied his medication during a previous incarceration.
Phillippi had been arrested for trespassing and was taken to the Fourth Avenue Jail after he was found unconscious, shaking and convulsing in a woman's yard, his daughters say in the federal complaint.
They say their father did not receive emergency treatment until almost an hour and a half after he suffered the seizure and slammed his head against the concrete floor. Phillippi had been prescribed Keppra, an anti-seizure medication, his daughters say.
After Phillippi's seizure, officers "opted to accept transport within 30 minutes without lights and sirens" instead of seeking emergency care to expedite his release, his daughters say.
By the time Southwest Ambulance arrived at the jail, Phillippi "was not oriented to place or time, was dazed, tremulous, and diaphoretic."
According to the complaint, Arpaio's officers use a "quick release" procedure "to dump inmates with significant and emergent medical conditions so that any emergency medical provision would become the financial responsibility of the 'released' inmate rather than the county."
Even though Phillippi was injured during his incarceration, Arpaio's medical staff "told the ambulance dispatch that this was a 'private' call, and approved the 30-minute response time" though Phillippi "needed immediate medical care," according to the complaint.
Sara and Angela Phillippi seek punitive damages for wrongful death and negligence. They are represented by Joel B. Robbins and Anne F. Findling with Robbins and Curtin.

- - - - - - -

It's not news that in Arpaio's jail, being accused of a crime can be a death sentence. He's paid out lots of your tax dollars (many times what jail systems in comparably-sized jurisdictions pay) because of this. "Tough" he isn't, he's just cruel and unjust. His day is coming, but unlike so many of his victims- he will have his day in court.

I have never seen any law enforcement agency go after a new organization like I have MCSO. Here's a link: http://www.mcso.org/include/pr_pdf/3-2-2010%20TBH.pdf

They make multiple references to "Channel Five tactic(s)". It seems that MCSO thinks that Channel 5 (and other news gathering organizations) are out to get them. I never heard any complaint when they were promoting the Sheriff's many PR stunts. But now that they are under multiple investigations, they are lashing out at the media in poorly written press releases- yes- press releases!

It'll be interesting to see where that goes. MCSO might be using taxpayer money for PR, but I don't know where that money comes from. Maybe they will tell us. Most decent-sized agencies have a "public information officer", but I don't recall seeing those folks used to provide political spin. I am certainly far from being an expert though.

About this serious post you made personally named one.

These were your personal words spoke.
It's not news that in Arpaio's jail, being accused of a crime can be a death sentence. He's paid out lots of your tax dollars (many times what jail systems in comparably-sized jurisdictions pay) because of this. "Tough" he isn't, he's just cruel and unjust. His day is coming, but unlike so many of his victims- he will have his day in court

A sad day for the man and his family for sure. Not sure why the passed out man was arrested, I wasn’t there and neither was Joe. As far as his head injury, the jail will claim it happened in the private yard he was found. Reason being why the jail told the hospital it wasn’t related to the jail. Yes a lawyer and a court will be needed to place the proper negligence here.

As far as your words saying Joe’s jails are worse than similar sized Jails? Yes they are worse, with a third of the inmates in them being illegal. These illegals have no knowledge of American cultures and ways. They came here blaming America for their third world living conditions. YES illegals in our jails make our jails worse.

As far as trying to blame Joe for any of this, you are ridiculous. No Joe wasn’t there. Yes the jailor in charge that day is the only one that can be blamed for negligence. Yes jail may have been this mans death sentence. A sentence he may of received in anyones jail. No, people don’t die in just Joe’s jails. My friend just settled a case for a wrongful death jail case in WI. Yes, this stuff happens else where. No it is not right. But until us the tax payers are ready to turn our jails into schools and pay for mental councilors for treating our inmates, it going to keep happening. And no, the money Joe spends on crime sweeps isn’t even a start of the money it will cost to change our jails. Jail is not rehabilitation, it is punishment. Ask anyone who knows anything about the county jail systems in America. NO it is not the best way to run our jails, but one again, unless you are willing to pay to change the jail system, America will have more wrongful death cases in every state.

To answer your question here, (It's not news that in Arpaio's jail, being accused of a crime can be a death sentence.) Sure it is news, but twisted once again. It is not just Joe’s jail that could be a death sentence, it’s ALL of them.

AZ boycott the Feds

So easy for the Feds to ask us not to enforce 1070 for another year, until the Federal government can do something. 1070 is the mirror image of the exciting Federal law. A law the Feds have not truly enforced in decades. Now they want us to wait even longer to enforce the Federal law? Why should we?

The Feds are not the ones who suffer from the illegals here, we are. Until the Feds are willing to pick up Arizona’s illegal tab, they can kiss our butt for sure. Obama told us to learn Spanish, he can kiss my butt on that one too. Sure it is great for all to know a second language, but mine is not Spanish nor do I feel it has to be, like Obama feels we all should learn. Yes, the Feds own words prove they love the modern day slaves, yet think they can make AZ pay for them? Think again Obama.

As far as every other state here. If you want to pick up Arizona’s illegal tab, feel free. Until then go ahead and boycott AZ. The money this state would lose from anyone’s boycott, is nothing compared to what AZ loses everyday thanks to the Fed’s modern day slaves.

Yes, America can thank Joe for the Feds finally admitting they created a huge problem here with their modern day slaves. But we can’t afford to watch the Feds do nothing any longer. Keep up the great work Joe, thanks for opening some blind sheep eyes, throughout our great country.

John McCain you had your chance, thanks for nothing,

Now, McCain has a ten step plan to do something about illegals. Hmm, does he really think we are all that stupid? No, the illegal problem is not new, it’s been here before McCain. Yet now McCain is first going to do something about it?

Had it not been for Joe opening blind sheep eyes, McCain would not have any plans to change the modern day slave system. McCain has jumped on Joe’s bandwagon. Yes McCain has let the slaves cost Arizona billions by doing nothing for all these years. He has let the meth backs come through our state the whole time he has represented this state and did NOTHING to fix the problem. Yes, all of America is suffering for the do nothing policy when it comes to illegals. Now McCain has a ten step plan finally? To late I say.

No, there is nothing to guarantee anyone else will do better than John did. Not yet anyhow, we will need a United Majority of America first, to insure all our politicians are like Joe, “for the people by the people.”

By the way, it is John McCain who spit the words drill baby drill at us all. Now we can all pay for them. Just like we all pay for the do nothing policy.

What the majority thinks is the true power of this great country. At least until the Feds change the constitution. We best all pray that don't happen. I think Joe would have something to say about that, thank God for Joe.

Arpaio has been invited by Las Vegas radio station KXNT to be a guest at their “First Friday” political event inside Stoney’s country bar on Las Vegas Boulevard near Agate Avenue.

He seems to be one of the few that knows the laws, enforces the laws{if opposition does'nt interfere, as usual} then we know what we have as a sheriff that is doing right, so keep listening to the opposition for wrong doing.

"nothing to hide"? The grand jury investigating him met Wednesday. Why doesn't he make MCSO's crime stats available on his website like Phoenix and Tempe PDs do? Look at MCSO's website- there's lots of POLITICAL content, lots of press releases, etc. But when you try to get crime statistics you get this:

"This is not an automated request system. After submitting your request it will be reviewed and processed manually by MCSO personnel. Depending on the volume of requests, you will receive a response via email within two to ten business days. Average delivery time is two to five business days."

Nothing to hide? If his record can't withstand the scrutiny, why not consider replacing him?

County Attorney Plans Shift in Immigration Enforcement

Updated: Friday, 07 May 2010, 6:25 AM MDT
Published : Thursday, 06 May 2010, 10:29 PM MDT

PHOENIX - Rick Romley, the interim county attorney, says he's going to shift his focus towards prosecuting human smugglers and drug cartels -- instead of zeroing in on people in the country illegally who are driving around with cracked windshields.

"The truth is it's going to be smarter it's going to be stronger and it's going to be more effective," says Romley, who took over for Andrew Thomas when he stepped down to run for Attorney General.

Romley's plan to curb illegal immigration in the valley will be by targeting organized crime rings.

"That alone will have a greater impact on illegal immigration. I want to stop the kidnappings, I want to stop the assaults on our community, and that's why I'm going after the bad guys."

The remainder of the piece can be read at the link posted above.

Here's a question: Why does MCSO's website have a press release slamming "Channel Five's tactics"? I though he had nothing to hide- he usually welcomes publicity.

Top of this page: "sheriff JOE ARPAIO chronicles"- if he has nothing to hide, why do his promoters, and political handlers keep trying to change the subject?

from: http://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/Common/Img/052109%20Bolick%20Justice%20Denied.pdf

(The numerals that follow some sentences are citations where you can find the information from whence this report was compiled.)

"One of the most effective ways to measure a law-enforcement agency’s performance is by the percentage of crimes it solves, known in legal circles as its “clearance rate.” Criminal investigations can be cleared in one of two ways: by arrest or by “exception.” Clearances by exception must meet rigid criteria that the FBI has used for 80 years. Essentially, the perpetrator must be known to the police but cannot be apprehended due to special circumstances such as the suspect’s death. Although the criteria governing exceptional clearance are clear and objective, some law-enforcement agencies skirt the rules of exception to clear cases that do not meet the criteria, essentially declaring unsolved crimes solved to inflate the agency’s clearance rate. Clearing cases that have not been solved deprives crime victims of justice and may compromise public safety."

"The recent Goldwater Institute report “Mission Unaccomplished: The Misplaced Priorities of the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office” presented substantial evidence that the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is improperly clearing cases by exception, possibly on a very large scale.1 The East Valley Tribune, in its Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative series, reported that in 2006 MCSO closed three times as many cases by exception as by arrest. The Tribune investigated MCSO case files and found that many were cleared without investigation.2 MCSO officials told the Tribune that an internal investigation was ongoing.3 But two years later the Arizona Republic reported that MCSO only cleared 18 percent of its 7,200 cleared cases by arrest,4 suggesting that the misuse of exceptional clearance may be unabated. The Goldwater Institute has urged the Legislature to require local law-enforcement agencies to report and post current and accurate crime statistics, including clearance rates broken down by arrests and exceptional clearances.5"

So, how again is Arpaio "tough on crime"?

If you want to talk about Washington corruption- try a blog about that. As far as Arpaio, here are some facts from:
http://www.goldwaterinstitute.org/Common/Img/052109%20Bolick%20Justice%20Denied.pdf

By FBI standards, MCSO should not have cleared the case by exception because no perpetrator was identified.

Abigail Brown's case is just one example of how a victim is denied justice by MSCO under Joe Arpaio (while he focuses on brown-skinned people with cracked windshields). Does any one of his political cheeleaders here deny that this happened, or that his "exceptional clearance" rate is between 75%-82% (that's the percentage of cases that are not even pursued, leaving only 18%-25% of cases actually investigated).

Try all you want to change the subject to Washington DC, but what about the criminals here that are never sought (or in many cases, never even identified) by MCSO and are free to victimize others? The name of this blog is "sheriff JOE ARPAIO chronicles"- why don't his devotees want to talk about his record?

If you want to talk about Washington corruption- try a blog about that. As far as Arpaio, here are some facts from:

You decide if MCSO wants to hide anything.

From: http://www.kpho.com/iteam/18658981/detail.html

PHOENIX -- A member of the Maricopa County sheriff's posse made up a law to prevent someone from videotaping a traffic stop, video footage shows.

During the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Jan. 9 crime-suppression sweep, Sal Reza and a group of observers took video cameras to film the arrests.

"We're part of a coalition of people that … have been monitoring the Arpaio sweeps for racial profiling," Reza said. "We hope to document any abuse that may happen."

On Jan. 9, two deputies in Goodyear pulled a car over, saying the woman was driving without her headlights. As the deputies questioned her outside, her young children were crying, and as Reza videotaped the incident, a posse member approached him.

The footage recorded the posse member saying, "Those deputies are undercover so you can't shoot here … I told you, you can't videotape -- it's against the law."

"The sheriff's posse member had absolutely no right to do that," said Dan Barr, a First Amendment Attorney.

According to Barr, there is no law that prohibits people from videotaping police scenes, even when undercover officers are involved. In fact, people have the right to observe and document anything that takes place in public view.

"It's disturbing to see a member of the sheriff's posse walk up and simply make up a law that doesn't exist," Barr said.

Reza believes the sheriff's deputies and posse members did not want him videotaping an emotional scene.

"In reality to me, (the tape) shows that that's no way to enforce immigration law," Reza said.

Joe's disciples can keep posting their specious nonsense, made-up facts, and childish name-calling. I hardly read any of it, I just notice when they post, and choose from a plethora of factual information about Arpaio and MCSO. It's easy. I will keep posting facts that you can look up for yourself about the subject of this blog: "sheriff JOE ARPAIO chronicles".

Crazy Sheriff Joe Arpaio facing FBI investigation for abusing his power by arresting his critics
By David Neiwert Saturday Oct 31, 2009 12:00pm

Phoenix's KPHO-Channel 5 broke the news yesterday:

The FBI is looking into accusations that Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is using his position to settle political vendettas.

Over the past year, 5 Investigates examined more than two dozen complaints against the sheriff from business owners, government workers, mayors and law-enforcement officials.

They claim they spoke out against Arpaio, and shortly after, deputies paid them unwelcome visits.

Among the public officials who have been victimized by Arpaio's little reign of terror in Maricopa County:

-- Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, who sicced the Justice Department on Arpaio for his racial-profiling practices.

-- Mesa Police Chief

-- Dan Saban, who ran against the sheriff in 2004 and 2008

-- Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard

-- Maricopa County Manager David Smith

-- The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors

-- Superior Court Presiding Judge Barbara Mundell

-- ACLU attorney Daniel Pochoda

....And there's video- Arpaio's supporters will claim that The Riddler drew the video in crayon, or some other crazy nonsense. Another option would be just to show it's not factual, but that would be like proving that the moon is not a satellite of earth.

America has it’s own poor, we don’t need Mexico’s

If you think about it, it is only Mexico’s poor and criminals that are coming here. No, the ones with brains and money don’t come here illegally. So what are we getting from these millions of illegals? The bottom of the barrel that is what.

We have enough poor and homeless here we can’t afford already, we don’t need any more. The Mexican Government better start taking care of their majority. Or maybe the Mexican majority will do something about it? But that would take effort the Mexican majority has proven to lazy to do. It is much easier to come here illegally and get a job, have sex with American children, break the law and get sent home, get a FREE English education, get free food, free diapers, free medical care, everything for free, even rights they did not earn. But nothing is free, WE, us legal Americans have to pick up the tab!

Why should the Mexican majority change Mexico, when it is much easier to come here? Why is it easier? Because of the system that loves the modern day slaves. As long as the system is running our politicians(all but Joe) Mexico will never change and Joe’s crime rates will continue to rise.

No we never had a job in America that Americans didn’t want. We only have jobs here that want to pay a modern day slave wage instead of a legal American wage. Americans can’t live on the modern day slave wage, we pay taxes and we don’t have twenty or more living in one house like the slaves do. Don't feel sorry for the slaves here, it is still ten times better than what their corrupt government gives them. Feel sorry for America.
