On Friday, a Maricopa County sheriff's deputy showed up at the county's information technology office to demand backup copies of e-mail messages relating to the Melendres matter that the county discovered:
A federal judge sanctioned Arpaio for destroying e-mail and other evidence relating to crime-suppression sweeps. The lawsuit has also brought Arpaio and one of his chief deputies to depositions.
Many assumed the e-mail messages were gone forever until county officials discovered they had a backup copy...
Friday afternoon, a sheriff’s commander, Bob Rampy, showed up at the county’s information technology facility to take possession of the e-mail, saying the messages were MCSO property and contained sensitive information that could jeopardize ongoing criminal cases...
David Bodney, an attorney handling the racial profiling lawsuit, said Arpaio "shouldn't be turning this document destruction issue into a grudge match between the Sheriff's Office and Maricopa County."

Arpaio and his people thought they got rid of the evidence. Now that the county has found it, the sheriff's office wants, once again, to gain control so they can make sure it never sees the light of day.
Arpaio's tactics are so obvious that even the most ardent supporter must admit tha the MCSO is once again trying bully others to get what they want -- a cover-up.
The sooner the feds finish with the business of the grand jury, charge Aarpaio, Henersquat and Thomas and get them all to trial, the sooner we will be rid of the unholy troup.

As Rampey showed up 1hr and 5min after MCSO knew the emails had been recovered, and with the intent on seizing them, it's quite clear that MCSO has something they really want to hide here!
Good to see that all these emails have not only been turned over in the civil suit, but they aare also going to the Federal Grand Jury looking at criminal charges against Arpaio and Thomas.

Arpaio is in trouble for allegedly breaking the law, and trying to destroy evidence. Surely you don't think that sort of behavior should go un-investigated- right? He will have his day in court along with his "posse". He will have a chance to defend his actions. Likewise for Andrew Thomas and others.
Why do his supporters ignore the evidence, then accuse others of blindness? It's beyond me. But nobody is beyond the long arm of the law, except former US Presidents and their closest advisers.

{ Tonya, these anti Arpaio people are not blind to the facts, they are creating the facts as they wish others to see them. I have learned that many of the people posting in the KPHO blogs are in actuality, quite possibly members of the county board of supervisors and many members of their staff. As one person told me, it was probably a matter of flood the media with anti Arpaio messages or risk losing your job. I'm told the same thing is going on in the AZ Republics comments section. Whether or not these tactics used by what appears to be highly placed individuals will work, only time will tell. This same individual told me if you want information, hacking is the way to get it, unfortunately I am not that talented.

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office announced Wednesday that 14 illegal immigrants were arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday east of Phoenix. The Sheriff's Office later said the busts occurred in the Fountain Hills area at U.S. 87 and Shea Boulevard.
The Sheriff's Office said that over the past 10 days, nearly 100 illegal immigrants have been caught.
All were headed to destinations across the East Coast.
The captured admitted paying smugglers from $800 to $2,600 to be smuggled into the U.S.
All 14 were booked into the Maricopa County Jail on state human smuggling and co-conspirator charges.
Mexican Mafia Gang Member Arrested in West Phoenix
PHOENIX (AP) - Federal authorities say a documented Mexican Mafia gang member has been arrested in west Phoenix after a monthlong fugitive investigation.
The U.S. Marshals Service says 40-year-old Eduardo Ochoa was wanted for violating his federal supervised released after serving a 77-month prison sentence for possessing a firearm.
Authorities say Ochoa also is an investigative lead in multiple homicides within the past month in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
They say Ochoa was arrested Wednesday after his vehicle was stopped and a handgun and narcotics were found. Authorities say Ochoa's has prior convictions for weapons violations, aggravated assault and endangerment.
Federal authorities say the Mexican Mafia is one of the oldest prison gangs in the U.S. and operates both within and outside prison.

PHOENIX - A west Phoenix Subway sandwich franchise on Tuesday became the second Arizona business to admit to violating the state law that penalizes employers for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants.
Under the settlement of the civil case, Danny's Subway agreed to close the business for two days and file quarterly hiring reports with the Maricopa County attorney's office. It will be on probation for three years.
If it's found to be in violation again, it could have its business license permanently revoked.
A call to Danny's Subway went unanswered Tuesday afternoon.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement found that Danny's rehired an employee who the federal agency already found was unauthorized to work there. The worker was hired the second time
under a forged identity.
The worker -- whose name was not released -- was arrested, the business was fined $431, and ICE turned the case over to the " county attorney's office for civil prosecution ".
"Everyone agrees that citizens and legal immigrants looking for work should not have to compete with unauthorized workers," County Attorney Andrew Thomas said in a statement.
The first civil settlement under the more-than-2-year-old state law occurred in December with Waterworld, a now-defunct northwest Phoenix amusement park that will have its business license suspended for 10 days if it reopens.
Prosecutors also filed a civil case against a custom furniture maker in Scottsdale. That case is ongoing.
The employer sanctions law carries license suspensions and revocations for those who knowingly make illegal hires and is designed to lessen the economic incentive for immigrants to cross the border.
Authorities across Arizona have examined several dozen complaints of employer sanctions violations, but only three civil cases have been filed -- those against the water park, the furniture store and the sub shop. Way to go Andy!! J.W. Simms.

Those who don't want to become Americans shouldn't come here unless it is for a short visit, like when we take a vacation to another country. The only other alternative, as far as Mexico is concerned, is to make it our 52nd state, and then it would be open to commerce both ways. Cold day when that will happen, I guess! Arpaio is under investigation, and so is Thomas' office. Why? For allegedly violating laws. Arpaio's attorney has admitted that he (Arpaio, or his cronies) destroyed evidence related to his policies on immigration enforcement. He also said that the evidence (some of which has been recovered from backed-up Emails) was damaging to Arpaio's defense.

Thomas Cracks Down On Graffiti Vandals

PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Attorney's Office announced Wednesday a new program aimed at graffiti vandals who prefer leaving their messages in spray paint rather than on paper or e-mail.
County Attorney Andrew Thomas said young offenders will be required to wear bright, orange T-shirts emblazoned with the slogan "Tagging Is a Crime," while they complete community work hours cleaning up neighborhoods.
Thomas said the juveniles involved in the program will also be required to attend classes stressing the importance of following the law.
First-time offenders participating in the program avoid the time and costs associated with court involvement.
Thomas said the public benefits from cleaned up neighborhoods stained with spray painted messages. Right on! go Andy!! this is why you and Joe are the best. J.W. Simms.
So, do you think Arpaio and Thomas will be cleaning up graffiti soon? Only if their replacements expand the program, it seems!

Arpaio and Thomas used a lot of financial and human resources to bring yet more cases that they have now dropped. That might indicate something about their malicious motivations to intimidate those who dare question them. They weren't enforcing the law, because if they had been they would have investigated enough to ensure they had a very good case, and wouldn't have been so quick to drop it.
Their house of cards is starting to crumble. This is what it takes, evidently, to get the public to look beyond political rhetoric and examine the facts. How many people have suffered and been denied justice in the meantime?
Many people are nieve about this whole situation, Joe is telling it like it is..corruption/agenda adds up to one thing, Washington's agenda!

Why are blogs using fowl language allowed on this site? I'm certainly no shrinking violet being a combat veteran, 6'-4" and 260 pounds, but is seems to me that using this kind of language shows everyone just what kind of person the writer is. J.W. Simms is undoubtedly a low life who is undeducated and proud of it. He is one of those guys who need overcome their "shortcomings" by using this kind of language and driving a big truck.

Post some facts that you want me to read that would suggest that Arpaio and Thomas are victims of a corrupt Washington, with links to some article or document that shows it's not just your own little rantings and ravings.
If you can post something that actually lends credibility to your opinion, I'd be more likely to consider what you're implying.
